Well, Grandma is officially a Columbian! No, not the South American, dark-complected, drug lord type, but the small-town, simple-life, slow-paced Texan type! We think it is suiting her well.
Below you'll see a picture of her aparment building. Her apartment is on the bottom left. The bottom three windows you see are all hers...and they're stained glass (she would be quick to point that out)! Her apartment is situated just around the corner from Columbus' square...complete with little shops and cafes. I'm sure she'll become a regular before we know it!
Here is a close-up of one of the beautiful windows from the outside.
And one of the windows from the inside. The little blue building you see across the street is a little beauty shop...how convenient! And to the left of that (you can't see it in this picture) is a little green building called Sunshine Designs...it's a little gift shop.
Her front door...complete with two grandchildren.
There really aren't any pictures of the inside worth showing yet. They just look like an empty apartment. But once Grandma gets all her boxes unpacked and everything just how she wants it, we'll be sure to post plenty of pictures.
She really is doing great. She's taking her time unpacking and making sure everything is clean. She's starting to learn the ropes on her new cell phone. She's beginning to get oriented, and might be ready to venture out in her little Nissan on her own before too long. She's even been invited to a widows and widowers banquet up at the church this Friday night. Getting crazy!
We are loving having Grandma here, and so far she seems to love being here. We think small town livin' is the life for her!
